The key to getting that professional finish on your interior all comes down to the preparation. By paying attention to the details in the preparation phase the final touches are not only easier to do they also look a lot smarter.
With a full colour palette available in every type of paint you can imagine it's just about picking the right paint for the right room. Kitchens and Bathrooms do better with hard wearing splash resistant paints but that doesn't mean you have to compromise on colour. You can have the exact colour you want using a colour match service and it can be tailored to whatever paint is most suitable for the room you're decorating. All the finishes are available whether you want a matte, satin or gloss finish and all are finished to a very high standard.
Typically with home improvement projects you end up at the mercy of your tradesmen, plasterers, electricians and that can mean planning to get your decorator in to finish off can be a pain in the backside. I can work flexibly around your needs to try and minimise the amount of time you spend living upside down!
The trick to getting a good finish on external paintwork is making sure you use the right tools for the job. Painting pebble dash can be a horrendous job if you don't prepare right and use the right paint and the right rollers and brushes to get a clean finish.
With sofits and facias preparing the surface ready to take the paint is absolutely key. Taking the time at the start to make sure the surface is clean and smooth will leave you a finish on your home that you can be proud of.
The final "gotcha" with external work here in the UK is the weather! I always make sure that whatever work I am doing for you won't be disrupted by or ruined by bad weather. Sometimes that means clever scheduling around what those boys at the met office tell us and sometimes it requires a little tradesman's ingenuity to make sure the area is protected from the elements until the work is done. Let's face it... if the weather men were right 100% of the time we would never get caught out in the rain!
Wallpapering is a speciality of mine. I use a number of techniques dependent on the type of wallpaper and the space to be papered from the traditional paste on the paper or for more complex pattern matching, pasting the walls often works better.
Cutting is always done with professional cutting tools, never scissors, to make sure you get a smooth clean edge at the top and bottom. This also means that the wallpaper can be trimmed once in place to ensure that the wall is covered to perfection.
Whether your tastes are for plain subtle paper or bright vibrant anaglyptic papers I can get it on the wall and give you the finish you want.
Even if you're not sure what you want I can work with you to pick some samples and help you decide on the perfect look for your feature wall.
With the best will in the world when you're stripping off old wallpaper or getting a wall ready to be painted there will always be little areas where pictures used to hang or where the scraper dug too deep that leave unsightly blemishes on your walls.
I work with a variety of different fillers to make sure that by the time I get to decorating it the wall is as smooth as the proverbial baby's bum!
Filling in Ceilings can often bulge or look uneven despite the hours you spend trying to get it to be flush. That's where my 20 years experience and the tricks of the trade come in to make sure that the hole where your old light fitting used to be is now invisible and won't distract you when you lie in bed and stare at it in the middle of the night.
"Touch Wood" so far in over 20 years I have never had an accident but it's reassuring to know that if anything ever did go wrong I carry £5million in public liability insurance. That means you can relax and trust in the work I will do for you knowing that if anything unforeseen should happen you're fully protected and your home and your furniture would be covered by my liability insurance.
With £5million that should cover almost all the homes I can think of... unless you happen to live at Windsor Castle!
For more than 20 years I have been painting and decorating for a living. I've worked on every type of property imaginable from the quirky uneven old rural cottages to brand new nice and square modern homes, from blocks of tenement housing to luxurious country mansions. It doesn't matter to me whether you live in a palace or a flat your home is your castle and I aim to give it the finish you want so you can sit back and relax with your feet up and be proud of your home.
Whether your tastes are for bright vibrant colours or muted subtle tones I'm able to deliver. I use quality products from renowned manufacturers like Dulux, Crown, Farrow & Ball in a tough practical vinyl based paint so in the event of an accident, whether from a glass of red wine or from jam smeared little fingers, you can simply wipe it clean.
In the last 20 or so years I've been doing this job I have been faced with almost every challenge you can imagine. I've learned countless techniques for those little tricky bits and those problems that crop up that you could never have predicted.
I take on all sorts of jobs whether it be wallpapering a feature wall, tidying up external facias and sofits or even decorating a whole house from top to bottom. Rendering, external work, painting, glossing, filling and even finishing touches like putting up blinds.
Every job I take on I take great pride in - the sort of pride you take in your own home.
I'm fully equipped with all the tools you expect from a professional painter and decorator including all the measures to protect the rest of your home from the work you're currently having me do to improve it.
